Album Notes
FORRÓ ZABUMBECA plays dance music from the traditions of northeastern Brazil. The tunes on this record represent forró pé-de-serra styles of accordion and rabeca music that masters like Luiz Gonzaga, Zé & Luizinho Calixto, Geraldo Correia, Arlindo dos 8 baixos, Jackson do Pandeiro, Dominguinhos, Hermeto Pascoal, Nelson da Rabeca, and Luiz Paixão cultivated from their past and pointed towards the future: the buzzing reeds, strings, and drums of country dances mixing with the counterpoint and harmony of urban choro and jazz.

Paddy League (8-bass button accordion, rabeca & vocal)
Adam Bahrami (7-string guitar, cavaco, & zabumba)
Catherine Bent (triangle, agogô & wooden frog)
Kenny Kozol (zabumba & pandeiro)
w/ special guest Marié Abe (120-bass piano accordion)

Recorded and mixed in February & March 2015 by Daniel Fox at ZUMIX for Wondersmith Audio

Mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East Mastering

Produced by Forró Zabumbeca
