Album Notes
"What does Christmas do ? by the melodic pop pioneers French Possession is the first ever Xmas single on the famous British Indie music record label Matchbox Recordings. It follows their debut single on the label " Triple A". "

What does xmas do ? has a traditional quintessentially english sound with a melody that warms up the cockles of your heart and instigates an emotional and teary lump in your throat. Don't get us wrong it's not a sad or depressing song designed to make you cry it's just that it's so lovely and beautiful and sentimental that it will break down even the hardest Grants and Phil's ( if you're not british they're from Eastenders - ed) of this world.

Great lyrics also that just raise up that xmas spirit and make all of the years troubles go away in an instant. Listened to with a large glass of your favourite tipple this is guaranteed to satisfy, relax and uplift.

This sing-a-long classic is destined to take it's place in the archives of famous British xmas songs like "Stop the cavalry" and we hope it bears it's beautiful head year after year after year. Take this song as an example of the songwriting skills that artists used to need to get famous and be on major record labels. Now however songs as magic as this are on Indie's Like Matchbox and the majors are releasing utter utter utter rubbish.

Happy Xmas for every year to come this record is a must at xmas time and whenever you need reminding that good music matters and so do emotions and love...........French Possession are definately the new pioneers of proper pop.

French Possession are a British melodic pop/rock outfit based in London or Manchester depending on what day it is. They are proper pop songwriters in the true and old sense of the word and deliver a classic sounding range of eclectic and varied but infectious flowery almost twee pop. Their songwriting influences range from Dylan to Radiohead with touches of Beatles thrown in for good measure.

French Possession's debut album "Foil for a girl in a posh frock" was released in April 2006 to critically acclaim. Songs from the album have been played on Radio stations across the world from Australia and Canada to Brazil to Belarus. The album featured a good mix of genres from electronica to bluegrass and one or two places in between. The overall feel, though, was of "proper pop"

The band consists of: Steve Jones ( Songwriter extraordinaire ) , Robert "the kiddie" Burton, Bruno Newman and the sultry, sexy angel voiced Briony Ace.

French Possession's first ever single was called "Triple A" and featured 3 top tunes "Nothing else applies", " The Courtneys of Ballantry " and "Ginny
