Album Notes
"And then there was you" (from Francesco Lo Castro's Improfives album ) has been the first Francesco's composition that Italian jazz singer Michela Lombardi heard. The two met in 2012 ( during the award winning guitarist's touring of the SONGS FOR DUKE album ) and for some time they talked about a collaboration in between London and Tuscany in Italy, looking for possible material, first in the american songbook and then in the Italian traditional song form. In the end they decided to write original material and Michela wrote lyrics for Francesco's music starting from this very first song and developing further in this highly melodic and poetic jazz album with the addition of Nino Pellegrini on double-bass
