Album Notes
Frances England created her first children’s cd, Fascinating Creatures as a fundraiser for her son’s preschool and never imagined anyone outside of her circle of friends and family hearing it. A year later, it was named the sole winner of the prestigious Oppenheim Platinum Music Award and eventually honored as one of the best children’s cds of the decade by AOL and Time Out New York. Since then, she has made two more children’s cds, both of which have won various awards including Parent’s Choice Gold Awards & NAPPA Gold Awards. All of Frances’ children’s cds have placed in the Top Five by the Fids and Kamily Awards, a national ranking of the best kids' music of the year by polling reviewers, musicians, journalists, parents, bloggers, entrepreneurs, and radio programmers.

Frances England has played her indie-folk family music at preschools and libraries, as well as Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Frances lives in San Francisco and her songs are inspired by her two sons and the many children she works with each week at the cooperative preschool that inspired her first album.

“Each song is a little treasure of creativity and heart” Los Angeles Times

“The whole album (Mind of My Own) is phenomenal.” USA Today

“England has a truly original sound, marrying lo-fi indie rock with simple lyrics that speak to both preschoolers and young grade-schoolers." Real Simple magazine
