Album Notes
" No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite." - Nelson Mandela.

I wrote "Beacons of Light" after a day of feeling so upset by what's happening in our country. I was also thinking about how children across the country are processing the news right now because I know so many of them are seeing and hearing it. With my own kids, I've struggled to find words to explain how hatred, racism, bigotry and violence can live and grow inside another human being (who was also once an innocent child). "Beacons of Light" is a response and if you have a child, I hope maybe you'll play it for them. 100% of downloads for this song will be donated to the Southern Poverty Law Center. Huge thanks to Dean Jones for collaborating with me on this one. /

Be the light to block the darkness
Be the sound to ring truth
Know that we are in this together
Know that I walk beside you

Where you go, Beacons of Light
All the world, Humankind

I was taught to love one another
I was taught we're all sisters and brothers
No matter what country you're from
No matter your skin color
You belong, You belong

Where you go, Beacons of Light
All the World, Humankind

I have a dream, kindness will conquer
I have a dream, just like Martin did
I have a dream, no soul will be forsaken
I have a dream, love will win

Where you go, Beacons of Light
All the World, Humankind
