ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
French - American, Frank Blackfield, english translation of his basque name François Arambel, is back in France after living 25 years in the US where he paid his dues in the folk & blues venues of the north-west. He has recorded a few self-produced albums that got "airplay" on the local radios in the Seattle area and that you can hear on french national "Radio France Bleue". Of basque origin, Frank left for the USA hungry for some exciting experience. There he basked in these rythms and gutful blues songs and came back with it in his soul. His music is made of traditional Blues, country blues, folk songs with quite a few originals.
Frank has performed in the whole south-west of France as a duo and with his band "The Frank Blackfield Band". During the "Blues passions" festival in Cognac, he met Willy Deville for whom he opened at the "musicales de Bastia" in 2003. Frank was also among the finalists at the "Blues sur Seine national contest" in 2006.
He has recorded two albums with his french band : "Downhome blues" in 2006 and recently "No class Blues" in co-production with Raphaël Doursenaud (EMA Tech.) & Serge Gaston.
