Album Notes
Honkytonk piano man, Frank Cavitt, has performed in Central Texas dancehalls for the last 30+ years. This debut CD is written about those honkytonks and drawn from a life’s worth of ideas waiting to get out. It is the first of many to come. The title track, “Is The Honky Tonk Doctor In”, reflects on his home away from home, Donn’s Depot. When you walk through the door you immediately begin to feel better and “don’t need a prescription card” to cure what ails you. “Meant To Be” was written for his parents 50th wedding anniversary. They hold down the corner table at Donn’s every Wednesday for the last eight years. “I Love Lovin’ You” started as a text to his fiancé and is reminiscent of the George Strait Texas swing he has danced many a night to. “He Don’t Have Much To Say” was written for a Grandpa who lost his wife at a young age and became a man of few words. The remainder of the tracks are just some good-ole classic Honkytonk dance tunes. Texas Swing Hall of Fame Member, Erik Hokkanen, is featured on fiddle and lead guitar and brings the classic country lyrics to life. Albert and Gage lend their perfect harmonies throughout and Chris Gage, of Moonhouse Studio, contributes his incredible music resume and talent to the production and mix. This one will keep’em dancin’ !!
