Album Notes
Teen star Frank Fafara had a string of successful rock 'n roll releases in Arizona spanning the years 1959 to 1964. His very first recording "Only in My Dreams" went to #5 on the Phoenix Top Ten radio charts making him an overnite teen sensation.

A series of top releases followed including "Miss You Dee" "Lovemaker, Lovebreaker" and another big hit "Golden One". Frank Fafara recorded at the same legendary studio as Duane Eddy, Waylon Jennings and Wayne Newton. Cashbox's national review noted that "Fafara has something of the late Buddy Holly in his light beat delivery". Billboard magazine gave him their highest 3 star rating.

Frank Fafara appeared at many Arizona cities with other top rockers of his day including the Everly Brothers, Conway Twitty and Del Shannon. Frank was also popular for his appearances at Stage 7, the hottest teen club of its day and often appeared on KPHO’s Saturday night TV show Teen Beat, as well as perfomances on the famous Wallace & Ladmo show.

Fafara's masters were recently found along with others at Audio Recorders, the studio which made Phoenix a major recording hub during the fifties & sixties. Frank wrote all his own songs and they were put out on MCI Records and Mascot Records. Frank's hit records were leased to Del-Fi Records, the same label as Richie Valens, but unfortunately were never released nationally. Today however, all the original Phoenix recordings from 1959 - 1964 of Frank Fafara have been completely digitized and are now available for the first time on this long overdue oldies album "Only In My Dreams". Legendary musician Al Casey played on many of the album cuts.

Frank Fafara's "Only In My Dreams" album of 10 original recordings written by Frank is available in an attractive retro album look CD digipak style with 6 panels of many vintage Black & White photos from the 1950's & 60's era. The great music of Frank Fafara
This is one of those cd's that makes you thankful for loving 50's rock 'n' roll. It also makes you realize how lucky you are for loving it. In my opinion, I think that the cd is worth buying, and you also get the nice digipak; It shows that they care for the music.

Although I grew up in Phoenix, I don't remember Frank Fafara. A friend sent me this CD, and I took to it immediately. By second listen, I was humming the songs, and I just couldn't stop listening to it. It reminds me a lot of Buddy Holly, and also a little of Bobby Fuller. The guitar is awesome, and I love his voice. I bought two copies of it to send to friends. I'm glad this CD was released after all these years!

Great, solid early rock-n-roll. Gives impetus to bringing back some of that great sound. Thanks Frank

A True Master
I am truly impressed with these recordings. It is very unfortunate that it has taken 3 decades to release what could have been major hits in their era. I have always felt very fortunate and honored to work with Frank. He has a true compassion for music.

Music that transports you instantly & keeps going 'round in your mind!
Songs like Ricky Nelson but resonance reminiscent of Elvis!

This CD Brings Back Great Memories
I played guitar on several of these tracks and during many of Frank's live performances. Frank always wanted to rehearse each song to get it just right before performing and this CD exemplifies his professionalism. I thought these songs were gone forever, but the CD has brought back great memories for me.

Thanks Frank

Good old music that lets your mind dream away for a while!
I cant help getting a smile on my face and wishing i was
there at the recording sessions to see this young Mr. Fafara standing infront of the microfon singing these songs. Good old music that makes you happy.

What a nice cd!
What a lovely made cd in this digipack! Great and rare photos, interesting liner notes and fantastic teen songs.
I couldn't believe that such cd exists! Really rare songs remastered from the master tapes. That's not usail to get so rare stuff in that quality! And not every singer penned his own songs!Remarkable!
Sad that he did not more songs ...

I wish there would be more teen cd's like this one by Frank Fafara!!! Really a great job - on music and artwork! Thanks a lot!
