ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
At only 25 years old, Frankie Bourne is a native Californian singer/songwriter with a unique sound that is all his own. Drawing from a wide range of influences, his diverse original music blends Blues and Roots music, soulful 70’s rock and roll, melodic 90’s Alternative Rock, and contemporary Indie-Folk music into a sound he best defines as Alternative Americana. Growing up in a small Northern California country town just outside San Francisco, Bourne was “practically raised” in a blues-rock roadhouse owned and managed by Austin Texas-Blues legend Angela Strehli. It was there that he was exposed to endless live music at a very young age in a community with close ties to the Doobie Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Elvin Bishop, Van Morrison, Jackie Greene and The Black Crowes. Rooted in the warmth of acoustic guitar and melodic harmonica, with stories of a wanderlust mentality, his songs create a refreshing combination of nostalgia for the traditional American past and ambivalence for life in the ever-changing modern age. A talented lyricist, Bourne’s songs tell intricate, often personal tales with a strong poetic use of vocabulary, and an undeniable knack for storytelling. His debut full-length studio album Californicana from producer Marc Danzeisen (and co-produced by Bourne himself) is set to release Summer 2014 under his own indie label, Robotic Records.
