The Nashville based singer/songwriter, Freddy S. Mullins, doesn't so much try to reinvent the folk genre on his debut album as push its boundaries in several compelling musical directions at once...which is made all the more remarkable considering the album was largely self-produced and home-recorded. The demos are raw and lightly produced but capturing and earnest as the songs revolve around the bittersweet, familiar concerns of life, love, and their frustrations delivered from a variety of musical prospectives. From the folk-pop "Run Away" song that leads off the CD to the edgy, folk-rock song "If I'm Not Gone", to the intimate acoustic versions of "Bring Me Blue" and "You Do Wrong" that show off the gripping bluesy/soul aspects to Freddy's voice, the album delivers many exciting musical directions in telling its story.

"If You Forget" is certainly one of the highlights of the album. It demonstrates the depth in Freddy's songwriting ability as this love song melodically weaves its way to an emotional climax where the unforgettable line "If you forget me, I'll forget me too..." is delivered with distinct vulnerability in Freddy’s voice. “The Walkaway” is another highlight and demonstrates simple but powerful writing in a beautiful piano piece. Freddy’s voice once again delicately conveys the song’s progressive emotions of sadness, disappointment, and realization of a lost love.

Fans of fellow singer/songwriter artists such as Damien Rice, Ben Harper, James Blunt, Amos Lee, and Ray Lamontagne will certainly enjoy Freddy’s debut album and find it fits nicely in their collection.

...this album is incredible!!!
I have to start by saying...Awesome Album!!!...Bring Me Blue-The Demos has seriously found a permanent spot in my 6 disc CD changer. Freddy S. definitely displays his vocal versatility and instrumental talent in this debut album. I respect that someone can write, sing, play, and master their own music and do it with so much soul and originality while keeping it real. I've found myself singing throughout the day to songs like "It's all Inside", "Bring Me Blue", and "If you Forget". One things for sure, I won't forget the many ways this album and the great talent of Freddy S. have impacted my life. If you want that feeling we are all familiar with, when you listen to a song and say to yourself "I really like this!, I want that song!", then you need to get this CD. Thanks for creating great music brother, we'll never be the same. LAAATTTE

and then I said.. WOW!
This CD fills in a huge blank that music lovers have been missing - the voice of an angel - the lyrics of a poet - and not a bad face to look at ;) Bring Me Blue is the long awaited and most anticipated album of everyones friend - Freddy. The combination of influences such as Ryan Adams, Jeff Buckley and Damien Rice are evident in Freddy's stylistic and articulate measures that are not only catchy but above all very seductive to the ears desire. This album is amazing and only gives a taste of this artists obvious talent. Spread the word - and get this bloody album!

You Won't Be Disappointed!!!
Wow! The music of Freddy S really gets to you! "Bring Me Blue" and "You Do Wrong" are constantly running through my mind or my cd player! Great music, great artist! Keep 'em coming!!!!

Its not easy to pull off the type of music that Ryan Adams, Damien Rice, Elliot Smith or James Blunt have and do without being accused of imitation...but this artist is moving right in that direction with a really impressive CD. Not only is it uniquely his and does not copy or borrow from other artists (merely is influenced by them), but from the lyrics to the vocal to the instrumentation its a top notch, soulful exploration laced with an artist's introspection. Looking forward to more of this artist.

Very unique and oustanding debut from an up and coming artist.....
BRING ME BLUE-The Demos includes seven very personal, well-written, well-played songs. But the most outstanding thing about Freddy Mullin's debut CD is his voice---which is very unique and soulful. He puts all his emotions into each heartfelt lyric and makes you believe what he is so plaintively singing on "If You Forget", "If I'm Not Gone", and especially on "You Do Wrong" and the title cut
"Bring Me Blue". "Run Away" and "The Walkaway" in addition to "All Inside" all venture into the various human conditions and feelings that we either embrace or suppress in one way or another and all of Freddy's songs are delivered with the same enthusiastic intensity that simply draws the listener into the story line and wrings you out emotionally.
Freddy Mullins is a truly unique and outstanding 'new' artist who has only just begun to mesmerize us with all his many talents. We look forward to whatever comes next. Great job Freddy and 'keep on dancin'.
