Album Notes
In The Mist contains nine original compositions by pianist Fred Hughes including the premier of three compositions: In The Mist, I Don't Know and Bill Michel. Also on the recording are three tunes never before recorded by the trio: The Rainman, The Day After and The Morning Calm. These tunes have been recorded by other artists, but this is the first rendition by the composer and his trio. Song for T.H. was recorded in Seoul, Korea for a DVD released in Korea, but this is the first Compact Disc recording by the trio. Out of the Blue and Tokyo Subway  were recorded for the 1996 debut recording of the Fred Hughes Trio and are re-recorded here by the current trio which includes Keith Mohler on bass and Frank Russo on drums.

This CD is loaded with energy, and an abundance of jazz elements. Swinging in different styles. Wonderful melodies. Entertaining improvised phrases. A great addition to my music library. Hats off to the Fred Hughes Trio.
