Before Fred Knapp became an accomplished drummer and bandleader he sang. This recording represents a strong love of the Hard Bop and Scat traditions. It is also the first recording together of, jazz stars and brothers, Xavier and
Quincy Davis. Pianist Xavier Davis has performed and recorded with the Who’s who of jazz including Freddie Hubbard, Betty Carter, Tom Harrell, Stephon Harris,
Regina Carter, Bobby Watson, and many more. Drummer Quincy Davis, Since being in New York, Davis has played with many great musicians such as Wynton Marsalis, Frank Wess, Russell Malone, Eric Reed, Paquito D'Rivera, Lew Tebakin, Marcus Printup, Warren Vache, Ron Blake, Jon Faddis, Stefon Harris, Peter Berstein, and Roy Hargrove. Davis has toured with notable leaders including Benny Green, Cyrus Chestnut, Regina Carter, and Tom Harrell.
