ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
“This Dream” is perfectly titled. It embodies the hopes and dreams of this talented group of musicians and singer/songwriters. Imagine a young band of musicians who write and perform music having the opportunity to work with a multi-Platinum, award winning producer/sound engineer who allows them to record their music the way they envision it. Frontier imagined it, and Jef Powell helped turned their vision into “This Dream.”

Often compared to The Eagles, John Mayer, and Alabama, Frontier is a group of talented musicians and singer/songwriters whose music is honest, real, and full of passion. Ethan and Andrew Worley write songs with a depth of meaning and lyrical perfection far beyond their years, and Caleb Caudill demonstrates impressive skill and finesse on the bass. Their music weaves the timeless style of classic rock and roll with their own unique touch and powerful harmonies to create a sound that is unforgettable.

Frontier insists that their music be real in every sense of the word. Firmly believing that there is no shortcut or replacement for genuine hard work, perseverance, and skill, they refuse to rely on engineering “tricks of trade,” like auto-tune, virtual guitar tracks, or even studio musicians. “This Dream” is a true reflection of who they are as musicians. In the words of Jef Powell, “This is the first record in over 20 years I have been involved with where editing, quantization, and auto-tune were not a consideration. No crazy amounts of replacements, no studio musicians - these kids played everything - wouldn’t even let me sneak any ‘treatments’ in - no supporting roles for synths or virtual guitar tracks, nothing…Proud of these kids, they were involved at every stage.” That speaks volumes considering Jef has worked with such great talents as Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, The Fray, and more during his career.

“This Dream” has all the mojo of a 70’s rock record with the sparkling nuances of modern recording techniques. “Come on In” is a feel-good, soft rock song that will uplift your spirits, while “Can’t Slow Down” commands your attention with a driving, classic rock vibe. “Back into Your Heart” is a brooding, powerful rock song that will take you by surprise, and the title track - “This Dream” - is a lyrically beautiful song that illuminates some of the hopes and fears of pursuing a career in music. From start to finish, all 10 songs on this album will find a perfect place in your heart and your playlist.
