ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Looking back at 21 years of music, there’s a lot of memories spread across different places and time. Some of the first songs were recorded on a four track cassette recorder during High School in the basements, living rooms, and back porches of our parents’ houses (special thanks for allowing the noise). Some of these first tracks are pretty rough around the edges, but Brad and I chose them either because we felt the music was strong, unique, funny or all of the above - in sum, songs we are proud of. For example, ‘Creepy Circus Music’ is the oldest recording on this collection (1997) and predates Brads involvement. Listening back - even though it was recorded on a cassette tape, it may be the most experimental recording I’ve done. As this was before digital recording (at least for myself) and I honestly can’t remember how some of those sounds were recorded.

As time moved onward, the recording locations changed to a combination of apartments, our own homes, and occasional recording studios. The distance also grew further as myself and others moved away, but technology allowed this not to be a barrier. Parts of songs were recorded across the country in San Francisco, Chicago, Canal Fulton, East Rutherford, or elsewhere - recorded on smartphones, iPads, and laptops then uploaded to the cloud and later mixed together.

Some things haven’t changed over the years; such as the desire to create unique music, Brad always providing amazing drumming, and consistently having amazing friends, musicians, and family members who contribute to our songs no matter how odd or experimental they were (or having no idea what the final recording would sound like). It was wonderful to look back at everyone that has played a part in creating these recordings and how important their contributions have helped make the songs what they are. Thank You!
