Album Notes
The newest CD by fumble fingers, "Fumble This" is quite a departure from their intial release of 2003; "Look Mom No Hands!". While the first CD was a diverse blend of musical genres, the newest release finds the band settling comfortably into a powerful, yet subtle Jazz/R & B groove that hits you over the head with it's sledgehammer opener (Fumble Finger Blues) caresses the listener through jazzier tunes (Hide From Your Heart; Tequila Nights, Do or Die) and blows the lid off with intensity and melodic musical chops! (Night of Screams; I Can't Wait Another Day: I'm An American)

The band plays each well crafted song with finesse, dexterity and an obvious love for the music they perform. The rhythm section of Stephen Spiegel,(bass)Mark Spiller, (drums)and Michael Hirsch (rhythm guitar) provide the solid foundation upon which lead and slide guitarist John Dolan and soulful vocalist, Clara Bowman deliver the ultimate goods.

Homage to the pop style of the first CD is limited to one song (Every Dog Has His Day). This band prefers to attack you straight on!! There is no doubting this band's ability to play! Each song offers a certain subtle beauty that offsets the raw power that this band produces. The melodies are memorable, and when Clara Bowman sings the lyrics you believe that she's lived each and every word of them!! Unique arrangements, powerful punch and emotional impact are what these songs are all about. Additional standout tracks include The Promised Land and These Things I See.

Do yourself a favor, pick up this CD. More importantly check out this band's high powered live shows!!! These songs hit you immediately and leave you wanting to listen to them over and over again. Where their first CD offered the promise, their new release really delivers!! fumble fingers may not be the next big thing, but they are the real deal!!!
