ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Futurama-Lab. is a label in Kyoto, Japan, focused on unprecedented electronic music mixing ambient, electronica, techno, experimental and so on.

The composers have a wide variety of interests in music and so their tracks also vary widely. From them, we selected tunes close to ambient music and released this compilation album.

Differently from the first album, this is more uplifting, but tranquility also remains. The ambience of these tunes will inspire something in your spirit, because the tracks have been born from the composers' profoundness.

In the following, we introduce the composers.

Cuevox (track 1), grainrain (track 5)

The same programmer uses both 'Cuevox' and 'grainrain' dependent on the sound he makes. The opening track by Cuevox is a novel electronic dance music featuring melancholic synthesizer sounds and violent noise. Violent but sweet. The track will make you dance. In contrast, the track of grainrain full of sweetness will make you feel at home. Sweet tide of drone sounds engulf impressive sequential sounds of synthesizers and the sound changes gradually and impressive.

hettin (track 2), routen (track 9)

Track 2, an ambient music featuring drone sounds by guitar, is a solo work by the programmer, hetting. Inspired by a scene of an observatory, he tried to make the scene into music as dynamic and large-scaled as the universe. Track 9 is a ambient-oriented Japanese pops featuring the wall of sounds of guitars and transparent voices of ryu.

TDO (track 3)

Simple ambient featuring drone sounds of synthesizers and guitars. The listeners, however will not feel the track as merely simple. The track will evoke of some images among listeners as music of movie.

Yuu Kagimoto (track 4, 8)

Track 4 is a good techno dance music featuring unique rhythm consisting thick sounds of analogue synthesizers and vocodered voices. As the track goes forward, melancholicness increases. Track is a modest ambient music on first glance, however, the track expresses a deep world. With the combination of heartful rhythm loop and drone sounds of the synthesizer, you can immerse in meditation.

tekeshima (track 6, 10)

Industrial and abstract sounds can be listened in track 6. Many elements from synthesizers, voices, noises are contained. Unique and extraordinary sounds and the way of mixing them are very stimulating and never bore listeners. The beginning of the last track of the CD is rather abstract. By little and little, the track changes into concrete with rhythm track and vivid sounds of synthesizers, as we wake up in the morning.

sesqui (track 7)

Using mysterious sounds and sound effects of synthesizers, he succeeded in making an unearthly ambient music. Sometimes very crowded with sounds, sometimes close to the silence.
