Album Notes
G2V 2:23 - Where science becomes art

When the 0HZ team heard the totality path of the 1999 total solar eclipse was going to cross Newlyn in Cornwall we took a team of fifteen digital sound and video artists, photographers and webmasters there to document and webcast the total solar eclipse.

Recording electro magnetic fluctuations, sound, light and very low frequency radio emissions from the sun during the eclipse, G2V 2:23 created midi data which was then emailed to electronic composers to create original music from it.

We made films, staged exhibitions and authored this PC CD ROM. It encapsulates the electric atmosphere of the day and the personnel that worked on the project. Features music created from the midi data generated on the day.

Also includes video of Positron Array the video installation created for Manchester's Digital Summer festival.

The guys behind this project have had shows all over europe, including 5 years of the Sonar Sound Festival in Barcelona. If you like this, you may also like work by 0Hz, Disinformation...
