Album Notes
Finally ©© the Andy Breckman debut album is out! Gadfly Records is proud to release "Don't Get Killed" from songwriter/humorist Andy Breckman. Breckman, now 49, was a regular on the New York folk circuit in the late '70s. His songs are unique and hysterically twisted... ranging from the unforgettable, often©covered "Railroad Bill" to the New York anthem "Don't Get Killed."

At that time, "New York Times* writer Stephen Holden said, "If Woody Allen had taken up folk singing, he would be Andy Breckman." In the early '80s, Breckman put his guitar away and concentrated on writing comedy for television. He won an EMMY AWARD in 1981, then wrote for LATE NIGHT WITH DAVID LETTERMAN, then for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE.

Recently, he's been writing for the movies, penning SARGEANT BILKO and RAT RACE. And now he's back! And Gadfly Records has got him! This first album is a collection of live performances recorded in recent years.

A treat for old friends! A surprise for new friends! "Don't Get Killed" by Andy Breckman!

Funnier than "American Pie"!
I've been a long time listener (0 time caller) of 7 Second Delay (Mr. Breckman's radio show) and was not expecting too much from this CD on account of he seems to have horrible taste in music (Eagles and Poco). It turns out practically every song is good. They're pretty much all funny and there's even a few that are kinda sweet.

Andy Breckman rocks!
Absolutely delightful. Highly recommended. Hard to find, but certainly worth checking out. Theres a live version of the title track on a Bottom Line tribute cd that Andys "little buddy" Ken has been known to play on his show on WFMU (can't be bad). This isn't as good as Dylan's Self Portrait, say, but its up there with LoVe's third album (Forever Changes), in my . humble o. Live and delightful. And no mention of Don Mclean too, which is always a plus, certainly.
