ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
The Nucleus is one of funk legend Galt MacDermot's greatest albums. Recorded in the super productive year of 1971 in between HAIR, Cotton Comes to Harlem and Two Gentlemen of Verona, Galt MacDermot wrote and recorded The Nucleus' instrumental tracks for two independent movie scores. Musicians are Bernard Purdie on drums, Gordon Edwards on Fender bass, Ted Dunbar on electric guitar and Billy Nichols on wah-wah guitar. Recorded at Mayfair Recording Studio in New York City in February 1971.
