Album Notes
Bay Area jazz-jam supergroup GARAJ MAHAL has become the sixth act signed to Harmonized Records, the offshoot label from LEEWAY'S HOME GROWN MUSIC NETWORK, in its first year of operation.

Called "one of the most talked about groups in jazz and jam today" by Mountain Express, GARAJ MAHAL unites one of jazz's most innovative performers, bassist Kai Eckhardt, with acclaimed classical/jazz guitarist Fareed Haque, drummer Alan Hertz and prodigious young keyboardist Eric Levy. Between them, the members of GARAJ MAHAL have accompanied the likes of Sting, Dizzy Gillespie, Stanley Clarke, Al DiMeola, Steve Smith's Vital Information, Bela Fleck, Bill Evans, John McLaughlin Trio, Steve Kimock, KVHW, Edgar Meyer and dozens more.

The unparalleled pedigree of GARAJ MAHAL, combined with its buzz on the improv scene, makes the band a particularly exciting new member of the fast-blossoming Harmonized family.

"Each member of this band is such an accomplished player," says Lee Crumpton, co-founder with Brian Asplin of Harmonized Records. "I consider these guys musicians' musicians who are capable of creating all sorts of opportunities for us -- and so, apparently, do more and more people out there on the scene."
Live Volumes 1, 2, and 3
"Like most jam bands, Garaj Mahal's compositions incorporate extended improvisations and globe-spanning eclecticism. But unlike many, their execution is accomplished with virtuosity and authenticity"

"Even an average Garaj Mahal show is better than most
bands best show." -

"Consisting almost entirely of fusion-instrumental jams, these "Live" recordings will appeal to fans of Brand X and Return to Forever, too. "
Chris M. Slawecki-"From the Inside Out"-

"With their first official release on Harmonized Records, Garaj Mahal went with what they know best - live music. Live Volumes 1, II & III exemplifies what Garaj Mahal has been delivering to their audiences each night out. If you haven't picked up one of their previous self-released live CDs, all three of these new live volumes are certainly the way to go. " - Read more at

Great Fusion CD!
Great band! Awesome music!!!

What a JAM!!!!
Completely different CD than the studio performance. The live are starting with the songs from the CDs and finishing as a Jam Session. Great performance of all musicians, impressively good!
