Weathered Pearls
Like a string of gramma's pearls you found under a pile of faded lace in the attic, the luster of these songs glows gently like memories flickering in candelight. Humor, melancholy and charm blend easily and effortlessly into a haunting opus. So thoughtful, so endearing. With not one note out of place, be it piano, xylophone, whale or tuba, this very original set flows like a lazy southern river past Mark Twain's mansion, thru the Sad Cafe, and right into the East Village. Destined for masterpiece status: the exquisite opener "after the after party", the heartbreaker "back in the day" and the brilliant "the best revenge." Bravo.

Good listen
Is it me or is Rachelle starting to sound like a female Randy Newman? In a good way! Tourmaline, Back In The day, People Like You are my favorites and yet I still really like the rest, there is only 2 songs I skip. Thats a great record in my book.

I was first introduced to Rachelle's music at the TED2008 conference when she was playing as part of Thomas Dolby's "house band" and I have been hooked ever since. She has huge tonal range with her voice , and her moods swing from soulful to satirical. She really hooked me with Pre-Post Apocalypse.
