And then some too...
This is by far the most ambitious musical project Sir Alt has undertaken to date. It is clear from this offering that he has been paying attention to his musical tutors. In fact, there are a couple of things he could teach them. Yet, despite all this Gary still has the modesty to represent himself as a stick figure in comparison to the so-called icons of popular music.
There is certain to be something here for everyone who loves music and enjoys the work of a true artisan. I'll be popping this one into my player for years to come.

Buy this or rot
What I mean to say is, I mean, where have you been all my life? I just got my copy in the mail today and already you managed to excite every emotion in me, and some that werent there yet. I'll have your baby! Can I have your phone number?

A classy, tuneful tribute
What a wonderful way to say "thank you" to all those artists who gave us so much emotional companionship over the years. Not only do the songs on TRIBUTE pay homage to many of the greats, but as originals they're also enjoyable musical presents that should have a place in any personal CD library. Also, it's a comfort to know that I wasn't the only kid on Long Island (35 years ago) who eagerly switched between the Beatles and Bacharach, between Carole and Corea, when the mood called for it. Back then, there were many musical 'elites' in school who scoffed at some styles and genres and the people who appreciated them. Gary Alt's TRIBUTE give those elites lifelong detention, while the rest of us are given lifelong extra credit--just as this terrific CD project deserves credit, too.

Amazing!
This is a truly remarkable effort. Who is this guy, Todd Rundgren, or Paul McCartney, playing all the instruments except drums on ONE song? Unbelievable! I would like to hear more singing from Gary, although the other singers are great. This is a REAL SURPRISE, very well done. Thanks.

Tribute
I'm 75 but I liked just about everything on this album even though it is not my generation's music. I'm also related to Gary but would not let that influence my taste in music. I know he is talented and deserves a tribute of his own.

And then some too...
This is one of the most comprehensive, exhaustive and entertaining tributes I've ever laid ears on. There most certainly is something here for everybody. I think the artists who Gary emulates would be proud and run back to their studios to write and record some fresh stuff of their own. That's how much of a reminder this album is of all the great music that has been committed to aural media. In fact, if all new music were to stop being made, there is enough out there to keep us busy for decades. And this CD proves that.
Great job, Gary!

PS- Your guitar work on "Color Chain" gave me chills. I think Jimi would be jealous. I sometimes wonder if you know just how good you are.

very diverse, very cool!
Yikes, this collection is so diverse its amazing! Almost feels like a new Beatles record in spots, or even Stevie Ray, or dare I say Hendrix! Fanstastic writing and playing.
