ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Every once in a while, you'll hear a song for the first time, and you just know that this one is going to be big. But sometimes you end up never hearing it again. Nowadays it's easier to track a song or a band down, but there weren't any search engines thirty years ago.
After we had just about finished the Byrd Brothers remake, we decided to track down and take a look at some of those songs; songs that should have been classics but are almost unknown, at least here in the United States. I looked at about fifteen songs, but some (Killer Joe) were a little too successful, some were fairly well known from later versions, and some just weren't as good as I remembered (Don't Talk To Strangers). We ended up with ten songs that if you have not heard, you should hear. We, of course, tried to add some big fat pet clam/ grit bros. sound to the tracks, but if you like anything about our versions, please seek out the originals; they were good enough to stay in my mind for twenty, thirty, and in one case more than forty years.
