Album Notes
I wrote 120 songs during the last year and a half. That's enough material for ten albums, so I feel pretty good about cutting it down to just four. It was a sometimes painful process that took several iterations to get down to the real nitty gritty that makes up this new series, "Sink Or Swim." I didn't have a particular mantra that I was following during this time, I was just trying to write good songs (both musically and lyrically). Because I take the words very seriously, I am particularly proud of this collection of songs. I try to look for interesting takes on very human moments whenever, and wherever, I can find them. And I also never want to forget that I am a boy that likes to play guitar. A little bit, eh?

At a point, when you think about it..., musicians ...ideally... try to mimic themselves ... as in becoming or BEing the best representation of their very own style. I never want to be known as just a copy of another artist. I have a lot of diverse influences that infect my music, but I don't really hear any of them... coming out in the final mix. When I say, "mimicking myself"...I think that I have a good handle on what is a good song by my personal standards. Every time I start a new project, I want the bar to be raised a little higher. But..., you also can't forget where you came from. With all that being said, one favorite song is entitled, "Close Enough For Rock And Roll" ... because you never want to get too enamored with perfection... unless you're into boredom (and loneliness).

This is a work in four parts, by me: Gary Eisenbraun (singer/songwriter/guitar player/assorted mayhem maker). Rock and roll. Enjoy.
