ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
VOICES OF ANGELS - Songs for Christmas - Songs for Charity

11 TRACKS OF PURE NOSTALGIC CHRISTMAS CLASSIC COVERS - a lovely album but also one with a special cause. As you listen to these songs please think about this special time and perhaps remember those less fortunate, perhaps those around us affected by cancer or those that have been made homeless this year. Also, please think about our vulnerable children or affected by disabilities, or have special educational or enhanced learning needs. They need our help and therefore with your help the Lord Mayor of Liverpool is using his time to raise funds to tackle cancer & homelessness; support vulnerable children and those with special educational needs and disabilities; and help create a safe haven for LGBT youth. Therefore, your downloads will help raise funds for the Lord Mayor of Liverpool's Charity (Charity No. 229539).

Why an album of Christmas songs?

You may be wondering why as Liverpool’s Lord Mayor, Gary Millar created an album of Songs for Christmas? Well, the Lord Mayor and the Lord Mayor’s Consort co-own Liverpool's famous Parr Street Recording Studios and have the honour and pleasure of working with a host of Liverpool’s very talented music creators - all willing to help create a Christmas album to raise much needed funds for charity.

THIS IS NO ORDINARY CHARITY ALBUM. The album showcases an amazing inspirational Primary School (ages 4-11), a mixed faith Secondary School, a world-renowned professional choir, 3 amateur choirs, a stunning youth theatre group and even a contribution from Gary Millar the Lord Mayor of Liverpool for 2013/2014 and his Consort Steve Macfarlane. Don't worry, beyond producing the album the Lord Mayor's contribution is purely a speaking part:-

Special mention for Springwood Heath Primary School. Sit back, close your eyes and imagine over 250 children, between the ages of 4 and 11, some in wheelchairs, some with enhanced learning needs and some mainstream - all singing with their teachers and staff. Wonderfully arranged by Lynn Hudson and recorded live by Steve & Viv Wright. A fantastic effort from a large group of children and adults and 2 excellent tracks.
