ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Gary Shearston spent some time working as a Minister after returning, after a "road to Damascus moment" from his time in the rock and roll world. A seeker, a deep thinker and reader, Gary explored many things in his writing - in this collection he focuses on the road to belief, with its rocks and stones of doubt along the way.
As fellow religious songwriter Peter Kearney says; ' ..... give honour to the late Gary Shearston. For me, his is one of the great Australian voices. As a teenager, I first heard the voice in his Sometime Lovin'’ (later recorded by Peter, Paul & Mary). It made me weep. A voice of longing, the stirring voice of the land, of shearers, of Joseph the carpenter, his lyrics rough hewn, melodies four-square. On this album we hear: "I had come from the quick-sands of fortune and fame, I had come with a soul that was aching". This is a man who was lost then found, singing strong and true the faith that rescued him.
