Album Notes
Celtic harper GaylordT. Stauffer has been a mainstay of the Minnesota Renaissance Festival since 1983, many times performing seventeen shows a day for the twenty some odd years he has been a performer there. In 1993 he received the Unicorn Award. This award is "Given to those people whose talents and love of performing personify the magic of the festival, and who with their special gifts continue to insure the artistic quality of the festival year in, year out,and all year 'round." In 2003 he received a special certificate that "Gaylord Stauffer hath given Twenty Years of service to the crown and, as such, doth merit recognition and gratitude for this unique achievement. Thus, we bestow upon this loyal subject our most gracious thanks and profound appreciation."
Mr. Stauffer started performing with theRenaissance Faire of the Midlands located at Council Bluffs, Iowa the year of the states one hundred and fiftieth year celebration. In the year 2005 [his fifteenth] he received the award for the most outstanding performer of the festival.
The Kansas City Renaissance Festival has seen him as a guest performer several weekends in October over the past few years. And recently he has started performing at the Des Moines Renaissance Fair, and the Iowa Renaissance Fair held at the Amana Colonies.
He performed and gave workshops at the 1998 and 1990 conferrence of the International Society of Folk Harpers and Craftspersons. At the 1990 conferrence in St. Paul, Minnesota, located at Augsburg College he was the chair of the conferrence. This conferrence set the standards of ISFHC for years to come; as well as the workshops for the Lyon and Healy Jazz and Pops festivals and the American Harp Society.

I love harp music, and have about 7 albums by Gaylord Stauffer. They're all beautiful, and in my opinion, the best of the harpers! This one does not disappoint. It's ethereal!
