ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Gena’s first CD, Given Wings, is here! From the upbeat to the serene, spanning Southern Gospel to Contemporary Worship, 11 songs, 6 of them written by Gena, all celebrate the love of Jesus. Her prayer for you today: “May God put His song in your heart.”

Gena has been in music ministry for 20 years as worship leader, soloist, and songwriter. She is also an inspirational writer and has published her personal experience stories of God’s faithfulness in both journals such as "Guideposts" and in books such as "Miracles Still Happen" (by Stone and Marzalek) and in the book: "What I learned From God While Cooking" (by Chris Bolley). She taught in public education as a special education teacher and a fifth grade teacher for fifteen years. Currently, when not singing and writing, she is teaching as an adjunct professor at a local Christian college. Gena is the wife of Jack Bradford, the mother of four adult children: Kelly, Emily, Ben and Hannah, and the grandmother of three: Maggie, Abby and Jackson.

Personal recommendation: “It is my great pleasure to speak words of affirmation in regard to Gena Bradford’s remarkable gifts for music ministry within the Christian community. I have known Gena for seven years, since my coming to serve as the Senior Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Spokane, Washington. Throughout that period of time, Gena has provided music leadership in our congregation both at worship services and other gatherings. She has blended very effectively with our worship teams and has done a truly outstanding job in her solo presentations.

Gena is a woman of deep faithfulness and her sensitivity to the movement of the Spirit adds special depth and urgency to the message she offers in music. She loves Christ and that love is very evident in the way that she presents herself in worship. Any who have the opportunity to be present when she offers her gift are deeply blessed. She has a gentle spirit. Her life has been tempered and tested by trouble and it has produced a depth and warmth that adds even greater validity and vitality to her musical message.

It has been my great pleasure to know and work with Gena through these years and I commend her to you in her truly important work.”

Pastor Dave Peterson
(Currently at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church
Houston, Texas)

perfect combination of heart-lifting fun and soulful provocation
This is a heartlifting album with some fun, familiar songs that I can sing along with. The new songs it includes are easy to hear and sing with also. The CD does not stop short at light, though...as it interlaces some soul provoking songs (Where Can I Go from Your Spirit)that stir the deep places of my heart. I love this album.
