ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is the eighth Genuine Hick project (not including the "Amalgam" collaboration with Brad Benge). The last three projects have been EPs and I think we feel more comfortable working in this more focused, easier to execute format. "Lost Children in the Darkening Woods" is the second EP produced at The Dust Bunny Ranch in Norman, Oklahoma and I think there is some continuity with 2013's "Rock Harbor" EP. For one thing, both projects are considerably quieter than the "exquisitely insane" garage band punk sound that has evolved working with Scott Keeton. There is another Scott Keeton produced Genuine Hick EP in the works so if you liked "Crooked Channel" or "Quarterly Report of the American Meat Institute" you may want to check it out. Besides the excellent engineering skills of Brian Eads, "Lost Children in the Darkening Woods" owes its creation to the brilliant musicianship and ears of producer Ryan Jones and to the songwriting skills of Gregg Standridge who cowrote all tracks with me (John Noerdlinger).
