ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album was conceived in August 2007. George went into a studio with a bass player and a drummer and recorded basic tracks for 18 songs. Shortly after this his life changed dramatically(for the good!) and the project sat on a shelf for two and a half years. Work began again in 2010. Over Thanksgiving in Santa Fe that year he and long time friend and collaborator Jono Manson did a lot of work on the recordings in Jono's studio there. Then while in New York for Christmas George recruited several friends there to add backing vocals both in Mark Ettinger's and Nancy Atlas's studios. Apart from one or two things back home in Cambridge UK, this completed the recording part of the story.
Jono had agreed to take on the final mixing, but he by this time was very busy with his professional studio, his live work, and his new young family! Slowly but surely the mixes started coming together, and in July 2012, George suggested to Jono that he come to Santa Fe again and the two of them sit together for a few days in the studio and get it done. And that is what happened in November 2012.
George spends a lot of his gigging time performing solo or with one or two others in an acoustic setting. Back in the 80s in New York he had run a full time electric band, the Corn Flakes, as well as playing bass in a number of other bands, and this album has been a chance to record some of his songs in a more electric setting. He is very grateful to his illustrious friends who have helped him with this project.
The songs, without exception have been played live a good deal before the recording began so they are tried and tested and have been sung into shape. As often is the case with George's songs, other singers will hear them and want to sing them!
