Album Notes
A little bit about some of the songs...

"The Good Land"
I had written the intro, and then got stuck.
As fate would have it, a good friend played me a little piece
he was working on, and "Land" was finished shortly thereafter.
"They Have Landed !"
This was written while apartment sitting in Boston. I had some strange dreams
about aliens, and musically described their arrival, and subsequent frenzy.
Recorded as a demo on a little Taylor guitar, I loved the feel of this first
take. Enjoy the ride !
"They Walk By Night"
Written in one sitting on a lake shore in Maine
If a musical piece can be channeled, this is the one.
Weird tuning and time signatures. Recorded using a big Guild D-55
which had the punch I needed for this.
"If A Heart Can Mend"
A Celtic lilt from way back when. This was to be a lyric song, but
the words never came...
"Down A Pathway"
Cathartic, a smoldering purge, if you will.
"For Awhile, We Left"
A long hike on the wild coast of Maine, an idyllic day.
I decided on a fade at the end because, as I felt leaving that beautiful ocean, I
wanted more.

Thanks to David Murray for the cover painting, and Peter Linnane for mastering these songs,
no easy task considering the many recording environments !
Thanks to all of you who listen. I hope you'll find something that resonates.
