ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This eclectic quartet explores the harmonic use of melodic lines.
The CD contains five tracks, three of them part of the three-movement Ode For Two Horns. These "Odes" explores different ways of writing for saxes:
Ode I deals with soli writing through an AABA modal tune, with a four-voice fugal intro.
Ode II is based on a simple two-note melodic motif and has a linear form, with an almost orchestral deveopment.
Ode III is a tune based on three-voice baroque counterpoint.

"Aymara" -a hard-bop tune- and "Expansión" (which deals with rhythmic and melodic augmentation as part of its form) complete the set.

Personnel:

David Rodríguez - Alto Sax
Bruno Muñóz - Tenor Sax
Germán Lema - Organ, bass pedals, composition and arranging
Víctor Morel - Drums

produced, mixed and mastered by Alejo Jiménez and Germán Lema
