Now, hear the recording debut of RICK GERMANSON as a leader of a powerful quintet. "HEIGHTS" (Fresh Sound) 2003 features five of Rick's unique compositions as well as three fresh renditions of jazz stndard fare. Featuring the explosive and comprehensive Brian Lynch on trumpet, the rock solid beat of John Webber on bass, the ever swinging George Fludas on drums and the polyrhythmic explorations of Luis Diaz on congas and other percussion, these young veterans bring you a tour-de-force of latin jazz and swinging hard bop with a 21st century outlook rooted in jazz tradition.

Don't miss this important debut from an emerging artist.

A brilliant gem of a find!
Germanson plays so fast and furious on some tracks, it's amazing. Than, he follows with a slow, light touch on the next track. On the Latin track, we say: Watch out, Chucho! The trumpet-player was outstanding, too.
