Story Article About Gerry Rhymes in Singapore : http://musicife.com/home-away-from-home-an-interview-with-geraldine-png/#!

GERRY RHYMES is probably one of the best albums ever made for Nursery Rhymes with a refreshing twist of pop, jazz fusion & classical genre combinations.

Gerry Rhymes album is for ages one to ninety-two years of age. It appeals to both adults and children.

It is a happy, fun and yet sophisticated album in its music arrangements with short stories being weaved that is featured in parts with each song.

Singer Geraldine Png was born in Singapore, Singaporean Chinese descent and currently living in Los Angeles, California.

She had been singing, deejaying, organizing children and adult events and a former flight stewardess.

Her American born husband Bert Lindsey, American Negro descent, is the music arranger for all songs except 'Child In Your Eyes' where the lyrics were written by Geraldine Png.

A collaboration as an east meets west marriage of two cultures uniting upon a universal theme based on music.

Geraldine is also a mother of a two year old girl. A full time singing homemaker who cooks, cleans and cares for her toddler, hubby and home.

Singapore is in the top five for countries with the best educational results and system. The other countries are Finland, South Korea, Japan & China.

Geraldine remembers very well that it all started with basic nursery rhymes which they taught in Singapore schools...And treasures the strict discipline instilled in Singapore homes and schools during her heydays in school.

Geraldine had been deejaying and singing in clubs with previous write-ups, song competition winner or finalists, radio interview and reviews in MTV Asia, America’s Music Connection, Singapore’s Apple Mac Garage Band Competition, Singapore’s National Day Song Competition Finalists, Malaysia’s My Voize Website, etc.

Geraldine Png had recorded mostly original christian pop songs and her concept album about her personal journey as a recovered alcoholic in the past as well.

Bert was born with music and art all around him. At age seven he began piano lessons at the USC music conservatory in Los Angeles. He built up his first home recording studio in 1974 and organized his first band while in high school. He composed his first symphony “Birth” soon thereafter. During the eighties Bert composed dramatic symphonic scores for USC, UCLA and Loyola Marymount film students and continues to freely mentor young artist offering his studio as a place for free collaborative artistic expression. He has performed and delighted audiences in the United States, Ireland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Bert came from a lineage of family members who were artists be it Bert's father, the late Bert Lindsey Senior was an opera singer back in the 60's initially with The Metropolitan Opera National Co in New York City.

Former Singapore talentime winner, jazz singer and corporate speech trainer Ms Choon Mah-Meggett/Mah Choon Hong is the narrator for the story and music inclusion in the album. Her motherly sweetness and warmth and hint of a British accent is the icing to the album’s cake, so to speak. She is also based in Los Angeles. She helps as a volunteer for the children’s nursery at her church every Sunday.

The story is written by Bert Lindsey.

Geraldine had been employed in the past as a Children’s Music Education Executive with a classical music company which deals with events aimed at promoting music to children from ages six to sixteen and parent’s participation. These organized events were all very informing and interactive which helps her understand the needs of both parents and children. This had allowed Geraldine to understand that the album Gerry Rhymes is unique and will appeal to children, their parents and even adults in general.

Geraldine's former experiences as a commercial and corporate flight stewardess had allowed her to socialize with peoples of different cultures as well.
