Album Notes
“We Still Have Fears Inside Ourselves” is an album about hope, disappointment, disillusionment, and, most of all, fear. The album could be thought of conceptually as “a day in the life” – beginning with Dawn and ending with Farewell – or a life in a day – with the hope of adolescence expressed in Atlantic, followed by the jaded undertones of Delicate and Up, the childhood reminiscences of Sycamore, and the presentation of a life-changing Conflict, which is resolved (Resolution) only when it is fully realized and accepted. Ghosts of the Kodiak’s first full-length production is a bit personal and a bit existential. Mostly, it tells us that we’re all ghosts, and we all – still – have fears residing in us, fears that must be dealt with, and can only be dealt with when they have been fully acknowledged.
