Album Notes
Among the string instruments, the cello has also attracted my attention. It was with a big enthusiasm that I started composing
for this instrument without knowing at that time that I would be the first Haitian composer to write solo pieces for it. I still put a lot of emphasis on the calls and responses basic concept of Haitian music as well as the percussive aspect of it. Those compositions reflect my strong determination to convey the expression of our collective soul as I explore the beauty of Haitian music in its remarkable diversity, undeniable beauty, both its simplicity and sophistication.
