ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Gilles Chiasson began his professional acting career in the role of Marius in the national tour of Les Miserables.

After seventeen months on the road, he settled in New York City and began building a career that would ultimately see him perform in the original broadway casts of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning Rent, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Civil War.

During that time, he recorded the original cast albums of Rent (Dreamworks), The Scarlet Pimpernel (Atlantic Records), and Fermat's Last Tango.

He also received an Obie Award for his work in Rent at the New York Theatre Workshop and a Civil War inspired Outer Critics Circle Nomination for Best Performance by a Supporting Actor in a Musical.

SLOW DOWN is an eclectic mix of songs emblematic of Chiasson's many experiences and talents as an actor, singer and songwriter. On the CD, you will find songs from Chiasson's work on Broadway with Rent's Jonathan Larson and Civil War's Frank Wildhorn.

You will find some charming and challenging songs written just for this CD. You will find some wonderful standards that reflect his respect for musical theatre's history and a song from his new musical play, Chrysalis, that reveals his view of where musical theatre is headed.

Gilles Chiasson's voice on the CD "Slow Down" is like a little bit of Heaven.
I was already a fan of Gilles Chiasson's when I ordered this CD, but now I'm even more impressed by his talents. The collection of songs flow well together and his voice is top notch. This is definitely a must-have for anyone who likes to relax with good music. Also, I really liked the quality care that CD Baby took in getting my order of this CD to me. Thanks.

great... truly a great CD
I received this CD as a surprise gift CD from CDBABY with my second order. I had never heard of Mr. Chiasson but am a new fan. I have played the CD so many times in the last week that I am intentionally trying not to play it as I am afraid I might burn out on it. Even so, the songs are running through my head through the day. His songs on the album are as good or better than the songs composed by others. The lyrics are thoughtful, playful and sung with skill and heart.... a really good album. I don't normally gush over this stuff but it is really good work.

This is a never leave your side CD.
I purchased this CD when it was first released. It is a listening experience rooted in life experience. It has the ability to entertain as well as enlighten. It is real and thought provoking and is seldom beyond my every day listening reach. A man who puts warmth and heart into his every vocal gesture. Gilles is worthy of the words he presents the listener to. Having also seen him live in three Broadway productions I know the heart and depth that goes into his work. His CD explores that emotion and intense ability to be totally imersed in the moment that he is singing in. A CD worth adding to your life as it is about life and superbly sung.
