Album Notes
Being the bass player and one of the main singer/songwriters in her previous band, Ginger had the opportunity do many exciting things. With her band she has toured the United States many times over including performing on the Vans Warped Tour for two years in a row. She has toured the UK five times in the past year, for months at a time. She has done two USO tours after 9/11 playing shows in Bosnia, Kosovo and Germany. She has recorded on and released an album for EMI's Tooth and Nail Records and received a gold record for the sale of 500,000 copies for a recording on the Freaky Friday Soundtrack in 2003. From 2001-2002 Ginger was also the bass player for an A&M Records band where she had the opportunity to work with legendary producers John Porter and Michael Beinhorn. She has also performed live with producer Linda Perry and fellow solo artist Sierra Swan twice in the past few months.

But all of these opportunites have only resulted in making one thing clear to Ginger, "Life is short so I want to make the best music I can from my heart." To her this means writing songs without compromise. Her music is powerful, melodic and full of pop and rock sensibilities. Her main influences are the Beatles, Elvis Costello, Superdrag and Elliot Smith, although she has a style all her own. Her solo project Ginger Sling, named after a lyric in the Beatles' song Savoy Truffle, is backed by a rocking band with herself on bass. With Ginger Sling she proves that she is a veteran of live rocking performances but also that she has a passion for pop melodies.

With Ginger Sling in existence for only six months, Ginger has already recorded a 5 song EP called The Room and played some shows on the Vans Warped Tour this summer. Her music has been featured on this season's The Real World and she continues to do local shows in Orange County and Los Angeles. She is also sponsored by Fender USA, Dunlop Manufacturing, Hurley Clothing, Paul Frank and Vestal apparel.

Love melodies and rock of Ginger Sling
I love what this bassist of Halo Friendlies has done for her solo venture while on hiatus from the Halos. Ginger has written and recorded some powerful songs with amazing melodies and lyrics. My favorite song on the EP is Faith. It really displays her songwriting and singing abilities. Ginger's cover of Kodachrome rocks also. Definitely check out this EP. Can't wait for more from Ginger Sling.

Ginger Shows Its Her Against The World Again
This Ep is yet more proof that Ginger Reyes, now Ginger Sling is going to be huge if the right person or label does what it should have done long ago and snap her up, she's tiny, she's feisty, she has a great voice and this Ep shows her solo writing ability is of the highest calibre, the Halo Friendlies couldn't be without her and her solo work deserves so much recognition, so starting here you can do something about it, buy this god damn great Ep and put Ginger on the map, slowly but surely, she is and always will be the queen of pop/punk rock and the princess of many a young mans heart... including my own! rock on Ginger always

paul campbell

i will follow
this gets 5 rather than the laguna beach demos 4+ because i love this take on kodachrome! otherwise there's nothing wrong here that wouldn't be cured by a lot more of the same!

Ginger Sling does a great job on this Ep
Great vocals and songs. Keep up the good work!

One of the talented female musicians of our time
Its taken me almost a year to get my hands on a copy and it was well worth the wait! Very different sound to Miss Reyes previous band "Halo Friendles", this solo EP as a sound of its own. Hopefully more EP's or albums will follow this one as its a real little gem. I'd recomend it to anyone who's interested.

loved the ginger sling ep
this cd was delivered within 3 days perfect condition ,loved the tracks ginger gets 5 stars from me

I've been a fan of the Halo Friendlies since I heard Acid Wash. Once I heard about Ginger having her own solo project going I decided to give it a try. Ever since I heard Now that you're here I've fallen in love with her music! I love it and I cant wait to see what she puts out next!

Loving It!
Wonderful little cd. Engaging lyric writing and girly vocals over a steaming bed of power-pop.

Just as Good as the Halo Friendlies
I've been a fan of the Halo Friendlies for a couple of years, so as soon as I discovered that Ginger had her own EP, I ordered it. I was not disappionted. All of the songs are very catchy. My favorite song is "Are You Gonna?" and her cover of "Kodachrome" is amazing. I fully enjoy every song though. A must have for those who love well written pop/rock.

Over the past year since I have discovered my love of rock music I haven’t been able to stop myself… being a fan of so many bands from old to now has really opened my heart to such diversity… one of my friends turned me onto ginger a couple of years ago when she was in the Halo Friendlies and when I saw she went solo I was just blown away… this album even though short is so great… from when I am feeling crappy to when I just want to rock out I listen to this album and I feel better… not only does she have the skills to play but she has the heart to sing and that’s what I love about her… she is really dedicated and is one of the only females to really open up from inside themselves and in a sense bare her soul… I love this chick… she’s great!
