Album Notes
When singer and guitar player, Liz Forster, and banjo and slide guitar player, Keenan Copple, met at a Denver music store in 2013, the pair discovered they were neighbors and began playing music together almost immediately. Weekly jam nights with Keenan, Liz and Phil Hanceford (on mandolin and vocals) materialized, and the trio began the search for a bass player. On a friend's recommendation, they called on Carbondale native (bassist and vocalist extraordinaire) Sheena Gruber. Forster says, "We caught a lucky break with Sheena. She plays terrific bass, sings and looks like Bonnie Raitt, and is a great fit for us vibe-wise." After their first practice as a four-piece, the lineup was established, and Ginny Mules were born. Fast forward to the spring of 2016, and the mule pack expanded to include the incredible (Julliard grad) Rebekah Durham on fiddle, bringing her virtuosic talents and general bad-assery to the band.

Drawing from varied elements of American music and heritage, each member brings their own brand of Appalachian music, Blues, Classical, Folk & Bluegrass, to the table. The end result sounds a lot like BLUESGRASS, with a focus on tight vocal harmonies and that high lonesome sound. But it is the raw, bluesier elements that give Ginny Mules their distinctive sound. According to Copple, "it's like bluegrass with a little extra stank on it."

Performing since 2015, Ginny Mules have a new record coming out December 2nd, 2016 and plan to take their high-energy show on the road! In the meantime, they love sharing the stage with many other amazing Colorado bands and opening up for their musical heroes in and around Denver!
