Mark Zaleski – sax soprano and alto, flute, clarinet (United States)
Hagai Perets – guitar (Israel)
Utar Artun – piano, keyboards (Turkey)

Andrew Dow – elec.bass (United States)
Yuriana Sobrino – percussion (Mexico)
Giuseppe Paradiso – drums (Italy)

All compositions and arrangements are by Giuseppe Paradiso.

Otherness Collection is the result of a research into different musical styles, traditions and
cultures, melded together by using the jazz key.
The album was also inspired by a collaboration with philosopher Francesco Paradiso (PhD Candidate at The University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia), leading at exploring the ethical implications of the encounter between the practice of world jazz music and the philosophical concept of otherness.
The proposal comes from the assumption that world jazz music is characterized by a constitutive aptitude for the
encounter with the otherness, the different.

Recorded in Boston, MA (USA) in May 2012 by:
Alex Munoz and Javier G.F. Escudero
