Album Notes
Gleewood's "Folk Rock" is a Southwestern, hippie-meets-western interpretation of rock 'n' roll. The band has a laid-back stage presence that can make even the largest of stages feel intimate and the "Live Sessions" album is an excellent depiction of that vibe. The title opens with three acoustic renditions of Gleewood's songwriting, featuring their first drummer, Myles Erdmann, and Fiddle Player, Corinna Ripple, of "The Flying 'J' Wranglers. Since the band began hitting the road after their first, self-titled release in Nov. 2013, it has been a non-stop tour of the U.S. in the indie music scene.

This collage of songs gives a good depiction of the growth after over 350 shows on the road, and also their songwriting methods of acoustic conception, which has blossomed into rock 'n'roll that is portrayed on the last two tracks, featuring Gleewood's current touring drummer and brother-in-law, Josh Landry. The road has led them to open up for acts including, The Marshal Tucker Band, Michael Martin Murphy, and The Voice's own, Grace Askew. However, the collaboration between other independent, hard working bands is where the focus has primarily grown feeding the music scene of the Southwest, with counterparts like, Secret Circus of Stockholm, Sweden who have a studio in Roswell, NM. Gleewood and Secret Circus have toured, recorded, and filmed together extensively over the past two years which led to the conception of this project as a testament to what can be done on the road in the back of van with passion and a little elbow grease.

"Gleewood is the kind of band that makes you smile with their easy going and friendly way on stage. If you're a fan of bands that you just can't pigeon hole, you'll love their sound which will remind you of the bluegrass and folk-influenced Grateful Dead with bits of folk, funk and jazz sprinkled throughout. It's their very own "High Mountain Rock and Roll" vocally expressed with the sweet sounds of Callie Sioux and Jhett's bottomless baritone."

"Just caught Gleewood at the Roswell (UFO Festival 2015) show and I have to say the show they put on is a unique first-class one of a kind experience that is a tough act to top. Their music is like classic Americana, embracing all genres, from folk acoustic, some country, to heavy rock and roll, with hip guitar solo's from the heart of the psychedelic 60's. Seeing Gleewood in action is definitely worth it so don't miss them when they come through." -Waylon Holman - See more at:
