GREEN LIGHT GO - KAMUELA KAHOANO

UPDATES: 6/20/07 - The Green Light Go CD was nominated for the 2007 30th annual Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in the best rock album category. I, Kamuela Kahoano performed live on stage for the introduction of the Hokus (Hawaii version of the Grammys) with the likes of Marlene Sai, Lahela, Pati, Sean Na'auao, Lehua (from Na Leo Pilimehana), Jack Ofoya, Wendell Ching, Gaylord Hoomalia, Kenneth Makuakane, and Alton. Although I did not take home the award, I'm glad to have had the experience of a nomination.
6/20/07 – Music video for "Don't Know Why" was premiered on channel 8 (KHNL) news in Hawaii and will be available for purchase via filmbaby.com, itunes, borders in Hawaii and several other venues worldwide in August. Video was edited and colorized by Saxon Moen. “Lenny And The SKIM” is almost out of preproduction and will be ready for shooting by early July.
“Green Light Go” music video shoot will begin sometime in October for release in December 2007.
Green Light Go (vol. 2) is scheduled for release in late October 2007.

Intro:
To whom it may concern:
Green Light Go, the CD is a 14 track, 6 year in the making compilation of alternative, rock, emo, pop, island, easy listening, hawaiian and techno songs. All songs (execpt Don't Know Why) were composed, written, performed, arranged, recorded, mixed, and designed by me, Kamuela. The CD contains passages containing Hawaiian and Japanese language. The CD really is fun and from the heart.
Ikaika lends his vocal talent toward Don’t Know Why, Lenny And the SKIM, and E Ha’i Ana Wau thereby enabling the Green Light Go sound to stand up to most, if not all professional grade vocals. Ikaika is definitely the real deal, and working with him over the years has been nothing short of soulfully spontaneous and hunbling.
The next CD is currently in the works, a solo and chamber acoustic CD for solo uke, guitar and vocal (mostly), although several tracks will have full body. CD release date is October 2007. I have also produced several new and upcoming talents and I hope to continue to produce artists from Hawaii and abroad.
The full GLG band currently performs at "Moose's" in Waikiki on Lewers, but that's more of a cover band focus, geared towards the mainland pop crowds and top 40 hits.
The full Green Light Go band (4-5 members) can do private parties, weddings whatever, so contact me if you’re interested (kkahoano@yahoo.com).
I have a solo show that I put on locally at Local Motion Brew Moon on Kalakaua Ave. in Waikiki. Wednesday nights, 7-9 PM...All ages are welcome and admission is free (tips always welcome also). No two concerts are the same and fellow musicians are always welcome to the stage for collaberation.

Performances include : KSSK Aloha Morning Show, 98.5 Island Radio, Jan 4th Hula Competition in Japan (solo ukulele), 102.7, 93.1 (interview only), KAPA radio (Hilo, Hawaii), Borders Books, Kahala Mall, Ala Moana Centerstage, Moose McGullucody's in Waikiki, Brew Moon and Local Motion, J-Wave (Broadcast in Tokyo), UH Campus Center, KTUH Monday Night Live, First Friday Gallery Walk, KHNL news 8 Morning Show (twice), Iolani School Family Fair Mainstage, Hickam Airforce Base Mini Mall grand opening, Borders in Hilo, Dock Sessions at Don Ho's with 808 Scene Zine, TRX TV Channel 584 (Don't Why Video - Producer/Director), 2007 Na Hoku Hanohano awards with the likes of Marlene Sai, Lahela, Pati, Sean Na'auao, Lehua (from Na Leo Pilimehana), Jack Ofoya, Wendell Ching, Gaylord Hoomalia and Kenneth Makuakane.

Upcoming performances, interviews, reviews and blogs can be viewed on the myspace page (www.myspace.com/glghawaii). One way to hear four of the CD tracks is to visit the band page (same as above) and click on the tracks to hear them play back.

Green Light Go
Just love it! I've followed Ikaika since Making The Band...He and his two brothers are very very talented...Ikaika always credited Kamuela as being the most talented of the group and it seems his little brother is proving him right! (although Ikaika will always be my favorite)

ANO goes to the next level with Green Light Go!
The brothers Kahoano have done it again delivering a uniquely awesome set from ballads to techno to a little hip-hop and an added twist with a more classical Hawaiian flavor. This is a sonic journey you want to take again and again, each time discovering something new to love.

FUN alternative pop rock Hawaiian fusion
Hawaii's own, Green Light Go's homonymous 6-years-in-the-making first album is a compilation of fun alternative pop rock fusion with bits of electronic easy listening Hawaiian drifts that make the 14-track-record fun to listen to.
Taken as a whole, the album can be a lot of fun to listen to, and it can make great company while working on the computer. It is definitely varied in genre, and it will be hard to pigeonhole, that's why you will have to pick songs one by one, and decide if you like them or not. In my humble opinion, I've always loved a great and fun song, that's why I can say I quite enjoy the album, and will suggest it to people whom I know will be interested in something still fresh.

This is an AWESOME album can not just like one song but many
Green Light Go Hmmm.... I would say it is an Awesome CD my favorite songs are Shake your Branch, Star in the Skylight and of course RICHARD. The songs I mentioned just make you want to listen to it over and over again. Two of the three songs describe my life or a moment I had in my life some one so far away.
