ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
THE GOODMEN BAND

The Goodmen Band with Mike Goudreau; vocalist/guitarist and composer, well known as the leader of The Boppin Blues Band and having produced 11 Jazz & Blues albums since 1993. Organist Lorrie Goodman who produced 3 Jazz albums with '' The Organization '' and drummer Stéphane Jetté who's worked with many Montreal Blues artists. This trio is a throwback to a concept that was very popular in the late fifties, sixties and seventies: '' The Organ Trio '' .

Their new CD '' Dancing Shoes '' presents 15 new songs featuring 14 original compositions co-written by Goodman and Goudreau. Funky grooves a la '' Meters/ Maceo Parker '' , swing a la '' Jimmy Smith, McGriff, McDuff '', full tilt Blues a la Albert King ( back in the days when he collaborated with Booker T and Stax Records ), '' Southern Soul / Gospel '' a la Al Green / Otis Reiding and a few '' New Orleans '' type grooves, all done in the ''Goodmen'' way.
