ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
We invite you to come on a Christmas journey with Good Noise, a journey to Bethlehem, a journey of rejoicing and new birth. As the angels, shepherds and wise men find their way to see the King and give glory to the light of the world, we tell the good news of the baby born in a manger. Stay with us at the manger on that silent and holy night, the night that Christ was born, and then join with the faithful in proclaiming: “Hallelujah, Glory to the Newborn King!” Produced by Artistic Director Gail Suderman, the CD features Michael Kalanj on Hammond B3, Laurence Mollerup on Bass, Elliot Polsky on Drums, Ingrid Stitt on Alto and Soprano Saxophones and Gail on piano.

In its few short years of existence, Good Noise Vancouver Gospel Choir has become a “go-to” gospel choir, performing with such artists as David Foster, Josh Groban, Leon Bibb, Dee Daniels, Jim Byrnes, Paul Halley, John Lee Sanders. Regarded as a leader in the gospel choir movement, Good Noise is known for its dynamic vocal sound and high energy sold-out performances. Under the direction of Gail Suderman, the choir’s mandate is to develop and promote an appreciation and understanding of gospel music in all its many styles and forms and to introduce audiences to the unique and powerful aspects of this music. The choir is committed to sharing the “good noise” that is gospel music.

Well known in both classical and popular music circles, founding artistic director Gail Suderman has spent her music career performing, teaching and conducting in the opera, oratorio and choral worlds. Known as an outstanding performer and voice teacher, Gail takes her love of gospel music and of the voice to new levels with Good Noise, encouraging the singers to use their voices to bring the depth and energy and excitement of gospel music to life.
