Ioannis Goudelis (Pianist, accordionist, composer, arranger)

Born in Athens Greece and growing up on the island of Corfu, Ioannis Goudelis started from a very young age playing the piano by ear. At the age of nine he received his first classical training and soon he started performing professionally. Later on he was honored with full scholarship in jazz piano performance at Arizona State University. His compositions and unique style on the piano, is a blending of classical music with his Greek heritage and Latin rhythms with gypsy and jazz bebop lines. He has performed at festivals, clubs and concert halls throughout the world: from Greece and Europe to Africa and the Middle East and, throughout the United States. Some of his worldwide appearances have included Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Festival 2006 & 2008 in Arizona with Cinco de Moio, Paxos Jazz Festival 2005 in Greece with his European ensemble, Scottsdale Center for the Arts in Phoenix with worldwide known artist Chris Spheeris and Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix with the flamenco music ensemble Mosaico. He has recorded more than twenty albums as a sideman on the piano and accordion, and his debut album with original music 'Life Goes On..' released July 2007.

Life Goes On
Ioannis is incredibly talented and creative. I heard him perform live at Jazz In the Garden in Phoenix, AZ. It was there I learned he was recording his first album of original music, and I have been waiting for it to be released ever since! If you love jazz you need to add this cd to your collection.

Life Goes On
Very sleek piano playing and lots of sonic surprises - udu drums and "odd" meters make this recording a sparkling jewel in the jazz/world crown. Buy it NOW!!!

Real music by real musicians!
This Cd is wonderful! It truly mixes world music and jazz, with elements of Afro-Cuban, Tango, Greek, and other "world" textures. Played soulfully by some beautiful musicians. And did I mention the tunes are GREAT!
