Album Notes
By the Producer, TJ Smith: "Working with these ladies was a pleasure. They are both accomplished musicians and songwriters, so the recording process really was on "auto-pilot". They were no rookies in the studio and knew what they wanted when they came in. They were open to arrangement ideas and had we had a lot of fun getting this album produced. Their writing style is reminiscent of some of the great singer songwriters of the 70's, from Joan Baez to Jim Croce to Gordon Lightfoot and Fleetwood Mac with a hint of Sheryl Crow and Adele' thrown in. On this project we used "real" instruments like shakers, tamborines, djembe, finger bells, drums, mandolin and fiddle. Plenty of acoustic guitar too. When we brought in Jenee' Fleenor (fiddle-Martina McBride) and Curtis Rempel (mandolin-High Valley) the sessions took on a much "grassier", organic feel, similar to Alison Krauss and an unplugged Eric Clapton. My favorite part of the album recording was falling in love with Maria and marrying her in November 2010! Not a bad bonus at all! This album is perfect for the Christian woman who loves contemporary Christian music with lyrics aimed right at her, right where she lives. Ladies, this album will become your favorite!
