Album Notes
For Grace Cosgrove this has been a life-long project dedicated to the music of Laura Nyro. For those not familiar with her work, Laura Nyro was an innovative and prolific singer-songwriter in the 60's and 70's. Her early albums The First Songs, Eli and the Thirteenth Confession and New York Tendaberry melded pop, folk, jazz, R&B, gospel, and even Broadway influences into a strikingly original sound. Some of her most famous songs were: Wedding Bell Blues, Eli's Comin', Stoney End,
And When I Die and Stoned Soul Picnic. Grace has assembled a group of incredibly talented musicians and singers who she says "went the extra mile - and more, lovingly and with immense skill." For some this will be a trip down memory land, for others, Grace hopes to introduce you to this gifted singer/songwriter.
