Album Notes
Welcome to a new take on spiritual music from Gracewing, a duo comprised of Sara and Rich Moss. They met in the music program at Illinois State University, and now reside with their daughters in Atlanta, Georgia. Along the way, Sara and Rich have been on a spiritual and musical journey together, and this recording is their way of sharing that journey with seekers and music lovers everywhere. These songs are intimate conversations that speak straight to the heart, and reflect a vision of spirituality without theology.

Sara, Rich and friends met in a songwriting group for over a year sharing experiences, joy and light with a goal of writing music in a folk– country– Americana way that many people could relate to. Little by little the songs came together, with Rich drawing on his background as an acoustic guitar player in the tradition of Michael Hedges, Leo Kottke and Billy McLaughlin, and Sara drawing on her influences from contemporary and past pop stars such as the Carpenters, Carole King and others. There were also many contributions from our friends Cindy Fuller, Patrick Abent, and Heather and Mike Wilson. These songs came from the group’s experiences with life and spirituality.

The response to these songs has been overwhelmingly positive with a wide cross section of listeners. Here are some of the things people are saying:

“ I liked how it’s really intimate and inviting, and didn’t really hit me over the head with message making.”

" Gracewing is a blessing. The music's energy will touch your heart and bring you to an uplifting space."

“ I used to play these songs in the car after visiting my husband in the hospital, and drew strength from them.”

“ Our kids ask for these songs every day on the way to school.”

"Truly inspired music that touches that place in all of us where Spirit's light shines."

“ Terrifically warm and spacious vocal mix with perfect harmonies and great guitar work!”

Rich and Sara don’t claim to have everything figured out. They make mistakes, have questions and try to stay on the path to spirituality every day. These songs are for all of you on that path, or those who are just taking that first step. Or, they are just great songs that we hope you like!
