ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Born and raised in Mississippi, now settled on the Virginia side of D.C., Gracious Me brings southern flair to Americana/ folk/ alt. country music. Her writing takes a literary, female perspective on the major connection points in life, and her soulful singing brings that perspective to life in song. In 2015 Gracious Me expanded the reach of her music, performing live in Virginia, D.C., Maryland, North Carolina, New York, and Mississippi, and in 2016 she has added dates in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Tennessee!
The first Gracious Me EP, Introducing . . . Gracious Me, was recorded at Rubber Room Studios in Chapel Hill, NC in August, 2015. The music on the EP has gathered several positive reviews! John Godfrey of The Troubadour Show said "I only play the music I love, and I love this EP!" He continued in a tweet "Loved the EP, certainly won't be the last time I play a track from it on the show." The hosts from Way Out Radio's "Journey to Tomorrow" new music program described Gracious Me's song "Warrior" as "an homage to a mum who always has your back." DJ Pat Stone, from the Pat Stone Show, declared "I love this folky Americana music, and her voice ... wow! I was listening to this song [You Don't Love Me Like You Used To] with my eyes closed and it's a great song for slow dancing." The DC Music blog Sustain and Resonance said "If you are a fan of great alternative country, ... mixed with a little gospel and Americana, go check out Gracious Me!" The radio show For the Folk, hosted by Amanda Lynn Stubley, listed Gracious Me's track You Don't Love Me Like You Used To on the For the Folk Best of 2015 list!
Gracious Me's songwriting has been recognized in several songwriting competitions. She was a finalist in the 2015 Richard Leigh Songwriters Festival contest Country Division, where she had the opportunity to perform her song "I'm Fixin' To" for the festival audience. Her writing also won 2nd Place in the 2014 Richard Leigh Songwriters Festival Lyrics Division and received an honorable mention in the 2013 Smoky Mountains Songwriters Festival Contest. Gracious Me's song "You'll End Up On Your Knees Either Way" was selected for the Women of Substance Radio Inspirational Playlist for April and May, 2016.
Most recently, Gracious Me has recorded new songs and is releasing her jazzy, fun Christmas song, The Naughty List, in time for Christmas 2016! Happy listening!
