Album Notes
These 6 tracks truly reflect what I'm all about as a songwriter and musician - they are guitar-driven, old-school, pop, rock and blues based songs.
Chilling With You is a relaxed pop song in the style of Roxy Music - a rich pop texture of guitars and piano - backing singers Mary Couch and Kathy McGill add a sweet texture to the chorus.
You Give me Superpowers is like an early Beatles pop song - it's an upbeat, tongue in cheek tale about how a guys first girlfriend endowed him with superpowers.
Kissed by an Astrophysicist is a quirky alternative rock song with it's tongue even more firmly in it's cheek - it's based on a cool guitar riff and is about how badly we treat people who are different from the norm.
Someone Stole My Heart Tonight is a stripped, back to basics, gentle acoustic guitar song with introspective lyrics about a failing relationship and the start of a new one.
The title track, I'm a Fool to Love You, is a bluesy song about the disconnect between an actors role on stage and his personal life. Featuring David Gilmour style guitar work., sweet piano and an emotional crescendo.
The final track is an instrumental based on the chord structure of the previous track. It starts as with a gentle piano, then there's a sax solo before a high speed, tense, Claptonesque guitar solo - it's followed a sections with an uplifting choir before returning to a gentle finish on the piano.
I hope that you enjoy listening to these tracks as much as I enjoyed writing and recording them.
